How to invoice a client for an AliExpress cart
When you need this
A client asks you to buy items on AliExpress and you want to quote the final price before you pay for anything: with your markup, in the right currency, as a document you can send. Copying cart lines into a spreadsheet by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. Here is the workflow with the Invoice Builder extension.
Fill the AliExpress cart
Add the items with the chosen options (colour, size and so on) to your cart. The extension works on cart pages of aliexpress.com, aliexpress.us and aliexpress.ru, including the regular cart and the “Choice” mini-cart. Up to 500 items can be imported at once.
Click “Create invoice”
A button appears on the cart page, and the extension popup in the Chrome toolbar offers the same quick path. The extension reads names, quantities, prices and links. If a field can’t be read, it is highlighted and you enter the value yourself. If the cart is empty, you need to sign in, a CAPTCHA is shown or the page is still loading, the extension tells you the actual reason instead of showing a generic error.
Choose the document type and currency
There are two document types:
- Client quote in English or Russian, in the currency you choose.
- Russian payment invoice in rubles, with Russian payer fields and “Code” and “Unit” columns.
Supplier prices are converted to the document currency using Exchange Rate API data. If a rate isn’t available for a currency pair, the extension asks you to enter one and never substitutes it silently. You can add a currency buffer, in percent, to protect yourself from rate swings.
Set your markup
Add markup to each line as a percentage or a fixed amount. Tax and discount apply to the whole document, and the total updates as you type. The PDF your client receives shows the final price for each item: your supplier cost and the markup line are not shown. For how to calculate markup, see the separate guide.
Add client details and your own
Pick a saved client or add a new one. Your business profile, logo, signature, payment terms and notes are filled into every new document, and you can add a payment QR code if you want. The document number follows the numbering scheme you set up.
Download the PDF or print it
The PDF is generated in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. Save the file, send it to your client and mark the document as Draft, Sent or Paid. All documents stay in your history, where you can search and filter them.
Once the client has paid, restore the cart
Open the saved document and start the cart restore. The extension runs a preflight check, clears the current AliExpress cart (it asks you to confirm first) and adds the document’s items back one by one, then shows a report of what was restored and what was skipped. You place the order yourself. An item can only be restored if enough of its product and variant details were saved.
What the extension does not do
- It does not produce customs documents, determine tax rates or check legal compliance. You are responsible for the correctness of the document and the taxes.
- It does not take payments: your client pays you directly using the details or QR code on the document.
- It works with AliExpress only.
Try it on your own cart
Install the Invoice Builder extension for Chrome, open your AliExpress cart and click “Create invoice”. To work out your price, read Markup on AliExpress goods.
